An amazing evening took place in Azogires , with  traditional Cretan Music  and The world famous Cretan Rizitika songs that go back  thousands of years.

Αναβίωση παλαιών εθίμων και ενδυνάμωση ανθρώπινων σχέσεων στον Αζωγυρέ

Με πρωτοβουλία δυο μερακλήδων  του τόπου μας  του εξαιρετικότατους  Αντρέα Βακάκη και Εμμανουήλ Μπουρδάκη του Ιωάννου , Διοργανώθηκε στον Αζωγυρέ μια Παραδοσιακή Μάζωξη. Με σκοπό να φέρει τους  νέους κοντά στους παλιούς , με αποτέλεσμα να ζωντανέψει το Χωριό μας  λες και ήταν  50 χρόνια πριν. Περάσαμε μια βράδια  που όσο κι αν την περιγράψω τα λόγια δεν  επαρκούν . Με ασταμάτητο Ριζίτικο και μαντινάδες  και Παραδοσιακή μουσική από τους εκλεκτούς Μπουρδάκη Εμμανουήλ του Ιωάννου  και τον Γιώργο Κατράκη στο Λαούτο  .  Καθώς και τον Μιγλάκη Εμμανουήλ στο βιολί . Θα ανεβάσω σταδιακά μερικά στιγμιότυπα όπως και βίντεο της βραδιάς αυτής  .

Εύχομαι  πάντα  ο Θεός να μας αξιώνει  να σμίγουμε σε τέτοια γλέντια και χαρές

Grape therapy in Azogires

Τελείωσε για φέτος  η συγκομιδή το σταφυλιών στον Αζωγυρέ , Μέρος στο πρόγραμμα εκμάθησης και συγκομιδής  τον Σταφυλιών έλαβαν 3 διαφορετικές εθνικότητες  εκ τον οποίον δήλωσαν κατενθουσιασμένη , κατά  τη διάρκεια του σεμιναρίου βιώσαν και έμαθαν όλη τη διαδικασία από τη συγκομιδή έως και το σταφυλοπάτιμα με τον παραδοσιακό τρόπο ,γεύτηκαν πατροπαράδοτη Κρητική κουζίνα και  έμαθαν για την τοπική παράδοση . Στο τέλος της εβδομάδας έλαβαν  αναμνηστικό δίπλωμα καθώς μυηθήκαν σε μια από τις αρχαιότερες  αγροτικές τέχνες τον προγόνων μας  . Τελειώσαμε κάνοντας μονάχα μια  ευχή να τους δώσει ο Θεός την ευλογία να είναι μαζί μας και του χρόνου

Grape therapy came to an end for this year in Azogires 3 different nationalities took part in the picking process .of which they made a great team ,amongst others who joined us on the grape pressing , they were taught the traditions behind grape picking  and grape stumping in the same way our ancestors did thousands of years ago they tasted traditional local cuisine and learned legends and folklore of Azogires . At the end of the week they were presented with a completion title  by Doctor Gerard ,I make one wish that God will give them the strength to be with us again next year  on this period .

A GREAT LOSS TO OUR COMMUNITY

Mε βαθιά θλίψη ανακοινώνουμε το Θάνατο του Ειδικού μας Συμβούλου και συγχωριανού Horst Schaab -Κώστας, ο οποίος μήνες τώρα έδινε μάχη με το θάνατο .
Σε Έκτακτη Γενική συνέλευση αποφασίσαμε ομόφώνως να εκφράσουμε δημοσίως τα βαθύτατα συλλυπητηριά μας στην Σύζυγο και στους λοιπούς συγγενείς του , και δεύτερον να παραμείνει κενή προς τιμήν του η θέση του ειδικού Συμβούλου του Συλλόγου μας την όποιαν και κατείχε , καθόλη την περίοδο της θητείας μας. Άλλωστε αποτελούσε μία θέση η οποία είχε δημιουργηθεί κατεξοχήν για να εκπροσωπείται από αυτόν τον ικανότατο συμπολίτη μας.Δεν πιστεύουμε ότι θα βρεθεί άλλος αντάξιος και δραστήριος όπως αυτόν που όχι μόνον αγαπούσε τον τόπο μας αλλά τιμούσε και ασπαζόταν τα Πολιτιστικά και Θρησκευτικά μας έθιμα.

With deep sadness we announce the death of our fellow villager Friend and Special Advisor Horst Schaab -Kostas, who for months gave a battle with death.
After a quick and full with sadness meeting we unanimously decided to publicly express our deepest condolences to his loving wife and to his friends and relatives, and secondly we voted that the position of Special Adviser of the Association will remain empty in order to honor his memory besides this position had been created predominantly Just for Horst.
We were greatly honored to have him by our side and now we fill the broken link in our chain, we do not believe that we will find another worthy wise and energetic person like him who not only loved our village and community but also honored and endorsed our Cultural and Religious customs he was a person who literally is irreplaceable . He will not be forgotten

Starting the new year we would like to wish our members and to all our fellow citizens in the new year to offer you health, love and happiness , and to rid our country from this yoke called crisis that virtually does not exist because the Greeks united are actually the power of God . A you we would like to express our greatest thanks to the young and talented artist Magdalene Tsiklea . Whose love for Azogires inspired her to use images of our region in order to create her new music video .Wishing to express our deepest regards The Board of the Azogires Cultural Association in a meeting with one voice decided to present her the title of Honorary Azogirian .We thank her and wish her a bright and shinny path on the way to a Glorious career .

This year’s grape therapy had an American touch to it. The One and only Rutan Clan Came all the way from USA to experience the magic of Grape Therapy . Along   with their European  Associates they gave Grape therapy a new meaning.

And together they delivered a message of unity between people ,under the Drunken from Grape aromas Azogires sky ,their feet sore their arms stiff and their faces full of joy was the result ,of their hard work and patience until the  Sacred

grape juice came out of the stone drain  . We wish that they will join us again in next year’s harvest.

So that all together we can bring to life the magical liquid called Raki , the potion that cure  the sorrow of Cretan Mans Heart
